Prayer Requests – Wednesday, September 28, 2022

John Smith · Sep 28, 2022

This is the church's prayer request list for the Wednesday evening gathering on September 28, 2022, covering specific monthly needs, ongoing concerns, national issues, and missions. The congregation is called to pray for storm victims, new believers, and gospel outreach ministries in Vietnam and around the world.

This document presents the specific prayer requests for the month of September 2022 from a Vietnamese Baptist church. The congregation is called to pray for believers and fellow Vietnamese people in central Vietnam facing Typhoon Noru, particularly in Hue, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, and Da Nang. The church also prays for believers in Florida, USA, facing Category 4 Hurricane Ian with winds up to 150 miles per hour.

The church also focuses on internal congregational matters, including a Thanksgiving Service honoring those who serve the Lord on October 9, and the revision of the church charter and bylaws along with a planned name change. Ongoing prayer requests include the spiritual growth of four women who recently believed and received Christ, who are currently attending a Basic Doctrine class in preparation for baptism at Thanksgiving in November. The congregation also asks the Holy Spirit to revive the spiritual lives of all members toward faithful church attendance, Bible study, and service.

Regarding national and social issues, the church prays for the upcoming November midterm elections in the United States and for the serious challenges the nation faces, including political division, rising crime, economic inflation, border security, the deadly fentanyl drug crisis, and the education of children and youth. The church believes that prayer can bring positive change to society and the nation.

In the area of missions, the church prays for Pastor To Dinh My, who is suffering from a dangerous appendix abscess that cannot be surgically treated, and for the churches and gathering points in Quang Ngai and Quang Nam affected by Typhoon Noru. Prayer is also requested for Pastor Lu Thanh Kien, who is in Vietnam for two months promoting and expanding the distribution of the Nguon Sang (Source of Light) magazine, currently distributed at 7,500 copies per month. Finally, the church prays for the ministry of Faith Comes By Hearing, whose goal is to bring audio Bible recordings to all 7,100 languages of the world by 2033.
