Waiting for the Day of the Lord's Return

Jesus warned the disciples about tribulations, wars, famines, and prophecies related to major changes (Matthew 24:1-22). The sermon cites Revelation 18 to describe the collapse of Babylon, symbolizing God's judgment against the great cities and foundations of human civilization. These events are designed to draw humanity closer to God, yet many still refuse to believe in and receive the Savior.
The third section emphasizes the spiritual preparation necessary before the Lord's return. Jesus taught in parables about bridesmaids and a bridegroom (Matthew 25:1-13) to illustrate that no one knows the hour Jesus will come (Matthew 24:42-44). The example of a faithful and wise servant shows that those willing to fulfill their responsibilities will be blessed. The pastor reminds the audience that you must remain vigilant, prepare your heart, and endure in faith until the end to be saved.
The fourth section provides spiritual assurance for those who believe and receive Christ. The sermon quotes John 14:27 and John 16:33 to remind believers that despite tribulation in the world, Jesus has overcome the world. The heart of the believer should be at peace, neither troubled nor afraid, for Jesus is their Mediator and High Priest. This peace is not the world's peace but peace in Christ.
The final section calls for repentance and perseverance in faith. The sermon warns that those who have been enlightened by the Holy Spirit but then abandon their faith will face severe punishment (Hebrews 6:4-6). However, the main exhortation is for each person to be watchful, live a holy life, and prepare for the Lord's return. The pastor emphasizes that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and therefore you must glorify God through your actions and words.
