The sermon affirms that 66 books of Scripture were written by over 40 authors across 1500 years yet possess miraculous unity in the theme of salvation through Christ, proving the Holy Spirit is the true author. The power of God's Word does not come from human knowledge or material prosperity, but from the Holy Spirit's guidance to transform believers' lives. Scripture enables people to recognize sin, need salvation, and be renewed to live righteously.
The first section presents the miracle of Scripture comprising 66 books written by over 40 authors from three continents (Europe, Asia, Africa), three languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek) over 1500 years. Although the authors came from completely different social classes, educational levels, and life circumstances (Moses a Egyptian prince, Peter a fisherman, Matthew a tax collector, Paul a religious scholar), all 66 books unite around one theme: God's program of salvation through Christ. Christ Himself confirmed that all Scripture testifies about Him, from Moses' Law to the Prophets to the Psalms.
The second section develops the thesis that Scripture is God's complete and final revelation about His program of salvation for humanity. The inspiration of the Holy Spirit (from the word theopneustos in 2 Timothy 3:16, rooted in "to breathe" or "to blow") into Scripture's authors made their words God's words. The Holy Spirit is the true author of all Scripture, though He used human instruments to write it. Therefore, Scripture is not a specific printed or translated edition that is sacred (unlike Muslims' view of the Qur'an), but its content in every faithful translation carries God's Word. Like music or film that can be transmitted through various formats (cassette, CD, MP3, DVD), Scripture's power remains consistent through different translations.
The third section shows that human scientific knowledge increases exponentially yet brings no peace; wars actually increase. The power of God's Word is not material prosperity or wealth as some preachers falsely teach. Evidence is found in early believers who suffered persecution, imprisonment, yet their faith in Christ strengthened. The power of God's Word is the Holy Spirit's power helping people recognize God's existence, consciousness of sin, need for salvation through Christ, and being renewed to live righteous lives.
The fourth section emphasizes that Scripture must be the foundation of believers' lives, not secular knowledge or tradition. The method of Bible study is crucial—we must seek what God has revealed rather than seek proof for what we want to believe. The Holy Spirit uses Scripture through various means (quiet times, study groups, pastoral sharing, relationships) to teach and transform believers. Unlike teachings from Confucius or Buddhism that influence only specific regions or periods, Scripture's Word transforms billions of people worldwide in the same way, because it is living Word, spiritually powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword, penetrating thoughts and intentions of the heart.
