Wisdom From the World or From Heaven?

The sermon distinguishes between two types of wisdom: wisdom from heaven and wisdom from the world. True wisdom originates from the fear of the Lord and is applied with purity, peace, and compassion. The pastor encourages believers to ask God for wisdom in faith without doubt, so that they may be guided in every decision of life.
The first section presents the main theme: wisdom is the skillful, correct, timely, and contextual application of knowledge for the benefit of oneself, others, and God's work. Wisdom is more valuable than knowledge because it combines knowledge, understanding, intelligence, and prudence. Scripture teaches that if anyone lacks wisdom, they should ask God, who gives generously without reproach, but they must ask in faith without doubt.
The second section develops the theological argument by contrasting two sources of wisdom. Wisdom from heaven is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality or hypocrisy. In contrast, worldly wisdom arises from bitter envy and selfish ambition, leading to disorder and every evil practice. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, for from the mouth of God comes wisdom, and He grants true wisdom to the upright.
The third section applies the message to the practical life of the congregation. Those who follow Christ must acknowledge that among many confused voices in the world, there is only one voice that dominates all of life—Jesus Christ. Believers must not only believe in Him but trust in Him with all their heart, mind, and strength. The pastor encourages: trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Though believers may still have questions, once they decide to follow Christ, they will experience the joy of a life being used for a higher purpose.
