God and Man Reconciled

The opening section introduces the central theme of complete reconciliation that God has accomplished through Christ. Based on Colossians 1:19-22, the pastor emphasizes that God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in the Son, and through him to reconcile all things to himself by making peace through his blood shed on the cross.

The second section develops the doctrine of humanity's initial separation from God. Isaiah 59:2 is cited to show that human sin has separated people from God, making their minds hostile to him. The sermon explains that wickedness and evil thoughts have hidden God's face from humanity, resulting in the loss of peace and relationship with God.

The third section presents the redemptive solution through Christ's sacrifice. Passages from Hebrews (9:22, 9:12, 10:12) emphasize that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness, and Christ used his own blood to bring eternal redemption. His one sacrifice has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

The fourth section applies the message to the believer's present life. Through Romans 5:1, the sermon proclaims that having been justified by faith, believers have peace with God through Jesus Christ our Lord. The sermon concludes with the promise from John 14:27 about the peace Christ gives, a peace not like the world gives, given to hearts that are not troubled and do not fear.

The final section emphasizes the new creation that God accomplishes through Christ. According to 2 Corinthians 5:17-18, whoever is in Christ is a new creation; the old has gone, and all things have become new. God has entrusted believers with the ministry of reconciliation, urging them to share the news of this reconciliation with others.
