A devotional reflection on the miraculous natural phenomenon of "blood rain" on Hormuz Island in Iran, used as a reminder of the Red Sea parting miracle in the Old Testament. Through this event, the article affirms God's almighty power, love, and special protection of His people. It praises God for the wonders He has done and is doing, encouraging gratitude and faith testimony.

# Blood Rain

Recently, CNN reported a rare phenomenon that occurred on Red Beach on Hormuz Island in Iran, called "blood rain," because rainwater flowing into the sea had a bright red color like blood. Hormuz Island is a popular beach tourist destination, so when this phenomenon occurred, videos and images on social media attracted a very large number of viewers. In the videos, heavy rains were seen pouring down on the coastal mountains. As the soil flowed into the seawater, the seawater turned a bright red color. Although this phenomenon can occur year-round, when it does happen, it is a rare sight!

This beautiful natural phenomenon is formed because of the unique mineral-rich coastal soil of Iran. When iron oxide saturates the volcanic soil and combines with seawater, it changes the color of the beach to create strikingly red waves. In Iran, this nutrient-rich soil is not only a stunning and rare sight in the world; it also has practical applications in many different industries. From adding seasoning to local cuisine to serving in the production of dyes, cosmetics, and the manufacturing of glass, ceramics. Tourists have expressed amazement and appreciation for this beautiful sight, and commented on social media, saying: "This is an incredibly beautiful island in Iran; let us keep it clean and preserve it; this is the power of God.... It is truly beautiful and wonderful."(1)

Thank God, He is the One who created this miraculous and beautiful nature, with countless minerals beneath the earth and countless plants, flowers, leaves, and animals, all of which are harmonized and create a world full of beautiful scenes for all mankind to behold and exist in every day! "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3). "Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds" (Psalm 72:18). The phenomenon of "blood rain" turning the seawater red reminds us of the miraculous event of the Red Sea in the Old Testament, described in Exodus 14. This passage recounts how the Lord parted the Red Sea to allow the Israelites to cross the sea as if walking on dry land, to escape from the pursuing army of Pharaoh, king of Egypt.

More miraculous than the "blood rain" phenomenon in Iran, the parting of the Red Sea brought precious spiritual lessons to the Israelites and continues to be passed down to Christians today. This is a supernatural, miraculous event of God's deliverance; He Himself has shown us His faithfulness, His supreme power over nature, and His wonderful protection, in every circumstance, even in the most dangerous situations in life!

God's faithfulness was revealed through His Word, when Moses spoke to the people, saying, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still" (Exodus 14:13-14), and God truly parted the Red Sea for them to pass through safely, escaping from the enemy pursuing them.

The supreme power of God over nature was revealed through the parting of the Red Sea, as recounted in Exodus 14:21-22, "Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left." It is truly supernatural, and no one else could do anything like it!

While waiting for the Lord's deliverance from Egypt, the people were watched over and protected completely by Him, because "The angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel's army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long" (Exodus 14:19-20). God protected the people in peace this way, until they crossed the Red Sea. It is truly miraculous!

Praise God, He does these supernatural works to reveal His power and love for all people, to the Egyptians, and to show us so that we may know and praise God. Certainly, our almighty God still performs miracles, works beyond our imagination and understanding. The phenomenon of "blood rain" reminds us of the works God did at the Red Sea in the Old Testament, helping us to know and praise, honor, and thank God; so that all people around may see and also exalt His glorious Name forever! Thank God for all that He has done and is doing in the lives of each of us! May the Holy Spirit open the eyes of our hearts to see the works He has done and to trust in His faithfulness to do countless things in the present and in the future as well; teach us to live with gratitude and proclaim the miraculous works God does, so that those who are still hesitant and unsure what to do may boldly come to confess their faith in God, thank God, and praise the Father's Name! "Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind" (Psalm 107:21). Amen!

Praise God's Name, truly glorious, Lord of all creation, knowing all, Miracles and power are revealed, The world beholds them everywhere!

Supernatural, wondrous, God alone, Faithful, loving toward all people, Protecting His people all the time, Exalting Christ forever more!
