This devotional shares the story of a wedding where the mother-of-the-bride's dress sparked controversy, yet the mother and daughter shared a heart of love and wanted everyone to shine. The article encourages Christians to have the same mind as Jesus Christ, caring for and considering the needs of one another, and seeking the benefit of others rather than personal gain.

# Thinking of One Another

At a wedding in Louisiana, the dress worn by the bride's mother drew considerable attention, as it appeared to stand out more than the bride's white wedding gown. The dress belonging to Mrs. Lori DeWitt had been viewed by many in an Instagram video as she walked down the church aisle, wearing a gown by designer Audrey & Brooks, featuring clusters of roses on a sage green background, with a deep neckline, a bow, and a detachable shrimp tail train.

Wedding content creator Chloe LeBlanc remarked, "The most gorgeous mother-of-the-bride dress we've ever seen!!!!" Many people believed that Mrs. Lori wanted to be the "center" of the wedding and stand out more than the bride. However, not all comments were negative. Many people found no fault with the bride's mother's beautiful dress and actually supported it, arguing there was nothing wrong with it. Some said that the mother had sacrificed much for her daughter and deserved to look as beautiful as her daughter on her daughter's wedding day.

The truth is that mother and daughter went shopping for the wedding dress together, and the daughter wanted her mother to look beautiful on her wedding day. They never expected Mrs. Lori's dress to spark such heated debate! Mrs. Lori said, "I would never do anything to hurt my daughter. Everyone just wants to look their best. I'm the last person you'd expect to go viral. I didn't even post the photo online!" Unlike the online commenters, bride Amanda felt her mother's dress was "perfect." She shared, "I love what my mom wore. My mom looked amazing. It was her day as much as it was mine," and both she and her husband wanted "the members of our family to shine."

How blessed it is when an entire family thinks of one another and wishes the best for each other, wanting "everyone to shine!" No matter what public opinion debated, it caused no harm to the close, loving, and considerate relationships within a united family. The bride's mother, Mrs. Lori, wore a beautiful dress because her daughter wanted her to, and she had no negative intentions in doing so. The bride wanted her mother to "shine and look beautiful" at her wedding. Both were of one mind, with good intentions—to look beautiful on an important day; and thus everything unfolded beautifully!

In the daily lives of Christians, if we share one purpose, one direction, one God, one family in God, and one future in God's Kingdom, we will certainly not be tempted to deviate from God's will. "Have the same mindset as Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5). He loved us, came into the world and died for our sins; His blood cleansed us of our sins, simply because He loves us beyond measure—a love so vast, eternal, and infinite! Let us also love one another and forgive one another. When we sincerely love each other, we will "not be rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs" (1 Corinthians 13:5). When we care for and think of one another, we do not "seek our own good, but the good of others" (1 Corinthians 10:24). "Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others" (Philippians 2:4). God is pleased when His people "think of one another"—understand each other's needs and take appropriate action to meet those needs, just as God has done for us. May the Holy Spirit transform our hearts to be like His, help us see the needs of our brothers and sisters, pray for them, and take concrete action to help, share, and live together glorifying God's name! Amen!

As God's people, let us live, Thinking of one another, united in heart, Caring, concerned, and supportive, His strength is infinite—let us trust! Seeking no personal gain, rejecting selfishness, Avoiding evil, guarding the heart, Living out God's Word without delay, Love and harmony, blessings abundant!
