A Storyteller

Storytellers have powerful influence on listeners and can transform their lives. Jesus is the greatest Storyteller, and His parables and teachings continue to impact the world over 2000 years later. We are called to be witnesses and share God's works and miracles in our lives to introduce Jesus to others.
# The Storyteller
Who is a storyteller? By a simple definition, a storyteller is someone who tells or writes stories. Throughout history, we have known some famous storytellers whose influence has touched their listeners, such as the philosopher Aesop who told fables. Why does a storyteller have such power to influence those who listen? If we have ever heard someone tell a story, especially one with real and astonishing testimony, we have certainly felt the impact of that true story and how it affects our lives. Moreover, it is remembered for a long time and retold, passed on to others. Someone with a talent for storytelling makes people feel that everything in that story relates to themselves. A storyteller has the opportunity to enter the minds of listeners, making them feel joy, sadness, curiosity, excitement, and encouragement. Therefore, if we have a talent for good storytelling and can influence many people, we can become one of the most powerful people in the world!
As followers of Jesus Christ, we certainly know of one outstanding "Storyteller" whose influence reaches millions of people in this world, don't we? Our beloved Lord Jesus is the most powerful Storyteller, and we should be proud and joyful knowing that He is the One we trust and love! Jesus told parables, examples, and stories from the Old Testament to teach His disciples when He was on earth. But those stories did not end in history; rather, they continue to have a great impact on the world and on us today! We still ponder, remember, and must retell them to others so they may come to know Him.
In the Psalms, God's Word shows us that even nature and creation itself declare the mercy, faithfulness, and righteousness of God: "The morning brings news of your love" (Psalm 92:2); and "The heavens declare his righteousness, and all peoples have seen his glory" (Psalm 97:6).
For God's people, we do not need to think up or imagine stories to persuade others to believe in God. We only need to retell the works, the miracles, the healings, and the blessings that He has done in our lives each day. Tell the stories of what Jesus has done, tell of His birth, His ministry, His death and resurrection, just as the Scripture records. All the stories in the Bible are true, and for over 2024 years they continue to be proclaimed! Let us be faithful and trust in God's power and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to guide us as we become storytellers about God. Let us imitate the authors of the Psalms and make this vow: "I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations" (Psalm 89:1); "Sing to the Lord and bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day" (Psalm 96:2); "Oh, give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples" (Psalm 105:1). May the Lord help us to be faithful witnesses, telling of the things God has done in Scripture and in our own lives, so that our living testimony helps those who hear to clearly know who God is and open their hearts to receive Him! Amen!
His Word lives forever, never changing, The glory of the Father spreads through all the earth, Worthy for us to proclaim again, The love of Christ to every place!
Rejoicing and praising, honoring the Lord, Sharing the Gospel with all people, The Holy God is merciful, forever upholding us, With all our hearts we serve Him, never ceasing!
