Never Forgotten

This devotion reflects on God's infinite love that never forgets His people, in contrast to a tragic act of child abandonment. Through Scripture, the author emphasizes that God's love is boundless, eternal, and always cares for those who trust Him. We are called to live worthy of that love and share it with others so they may find their Redeemer.
Never Forgotten
On March 20, 2024, CNN reported a tragic event. In the state of Ohio, Ms. Candelario, a mother, left her 18-month-old daughter alone at home while she went on a 10-day vacation, and the baby died when she returned! The child's grandmother reported that her daughter suffers from a mental illness, and without taking her medication regularly, she could act recklessly, as she did by leaving her daughter home alone without any sense of responsibility! However, the court did not use this condition to reduce her sentence. Last Monday, the judge sentenced Ms. Candelario to life in prison, marking the final chapter of such a cruel case that investigators described as the most horrifying case they had ever witnessed in their careers. The court sentenced this mother to life in prison with no possibility of parole!
It is truly difficult to accept when a mother abandons her own child in such a way. As the Lord speaks in the Bible, "Can a woman forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you" (Isaiah 49:15). A mother always loves her child, but if there is someone who does not love their child, to the point of forgetting to nurse them, then the Lord will never forget His people! God's love is boundless and eternal, transcending time and space, forever unchanging for us! The prophet Jeremiah revealed this truth to us: "The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: 'I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness'" (Jeremiah 31:3). Furthermore, the Apostle Paul expressed God's love for those who trust in Him: "And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us" (Romans 5:5). He cares for each person, everywhere, at all times. "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods; his love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords; his love endures forever" (Psalm 136:1-3). We thank the Lord for His limitless love for us, even to the point of dying for our sins: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Thanks be to God, who has redeemed us and made us His beloved people! We pray that God will help us live worthy of His eternal love, and live to show this love to all people; so that everyone may know God and come to accept Him as the Savior of their lives! Amen!
God's love is boundless and eternal, Only He can save us, We give thanks with all our hearts to the Father, The One who always cares for each person near and far!
Give yourself completely, offer your life in service, Live for Him, surrendering everything, Proclaim the Name of the All-knowing Lord, So that all may know and follow Him!
