Nothing Can Be Hidden

This devotional reminds us that nothing can be hidden from God, as He is everywhere and knows all things. Instead of hiding our sins, we should confess them to God with a repentant heart, because God is loving and will forgive those who repent and turn away from sin.
# Lesson 19 Nothing Can Be Hidden
"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account." - Hebrews 4:13
"Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy." - Proverbs 28:13
Have you ever done something you didn't want anyone to know about, thinking that perhaps no one would find out? The ancients used to say, "Hide the beginning, hide the end," and "if you don't want anyone to know, it's better not to do it." Many people, for various reasons, feel they must keep their actions secret, fearing that revealing them might hurt or sadden others, so they prefer to keep quiet. But after some time, the secret must come out because they cannot bear keeping it bottled up inside and must live with guilt, worry, and fear of the consequences that might follow!
If we speak of sin specifically, when we do wrong things for our own benefit or to harm others, attempting to hide that sin is even more dangerous than confessing it to God. God's word in Jeremiah 23:24 says, "...Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?" declares the Lord. "Do not I fill heaven and earth?" Here, God reminds His people that He is everywhere, He knows all things, and nothing can be hidden from Him. "Woe to those who go to great lengths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think, 'Who sees us? Who will know?'" (Isaiah 29:15). Therefore, it is better to acknowledge our sin, repent, and confess it to God! God is loving and will forgive those who repent of their sins, for "whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy" (Proverbs 28:13). God is our Creator. He knows we are weak and imperfect and will sin; but He is Holy and abhors sin. He desires that we be sanctified daily, that we abandon our sins, repent, and rely on His strength so that we may become more like Him each day, so that we may be His light to the world!
"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account" (Hebrews 4:13). Therefore, let us not deliberately sin and hide our transgressions; instead, we must know that God is fully aware of everything we have done and will do, so that we may avoid sin and confess our wrongdoing to Him as soon as we have sinned. Let us pray that God forgives our sins, guards us from temptation, and grants us strength to resist the powers of darkness in this world, so that we may become radiant children always pleasing to our God! Amen!
Do not hide your sin, For He knows clearly our path, All sin must be confessed, God's love will forgive all things!
