# Lesson 41 ## An Opportunity to Help

"Our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases" - Psalm 115:3

"So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is" - Ephesians 5:17

One morning, a sister in our church called me and asked for my help with something. At first, I didn't know what she needed and wasn't sure if I could help, since I was working from home and didn't have a car available in case she needed transportation somewhere. However, I thought that surely she knew this, and whatever she was asking for, I should be able to do it. Indeed, she asked me to call and make an urgent appointment with a doctor because she had just fainted at home. She had called her husband to come home, but he didn't speak English well enough, and she was worried the doctor's office wouldn't understand him. After writing down the necessary information to call the doctor's office, I made an appointment for her to see the doctor that same afternoon. She went to see the doctor, took medication, and felt much better. Around 3:30 that afternoon, she called me again and asked me to call the nurse to schedule a follow-up appointment for the following week, because after a blood test, the doctor had found the cause and could treat her! Thank God!

To be honest, making phone calls for others is not really my preference. I rarely call anyone, only when it's absolutely necessary. However, that day, God gave me an opportunity to help a sister in need, and I felt peaceful and joyful because I had the chance to serve my neighbor, even though I had to make several phone calls back and forth! I thank God because He knows the ability of each person, and He opens doors so that I can use the abilities He has given me to glorify His name. Indeed, if we let God rule over our lives and allow Him to use us according to His will, our lives will become a blessing to others, for God always does what is best, as King David said, "Our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases" (Psalm 115:3). We should rejoice in His will, for "God has arranged the members in the body, each one of them, just as He desired" (1 Corinthians 12:18); and we should seek God's will and follow it, as the apostle Paul said, "So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is" (Ephesians 5:17). When we let God use us according to His will, we will experience joy, peace, and blessing! I pray that Almighty God will grant us wisdom to know His will for our lives, so that we may follow His will, and through His grace become a blessing to those around us! Amen!

Thank God for using me, To do greater good for Him, My will may be wrong, I pray that God's will be revealed! Help me never forget, That He is always watching over me, My heart will be filled with joy, When doing God's work is a blessing to others!
