Gold

Gold is one of the precious treasures that God has given to mankind since creation. We must live with gratitude to God because all wealth comes from Him, and we express our thankfulness through dedicating ourselves to God's work and sharing with the poor.
# Gold
"Now a river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters. The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold. The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there." - Genesis 2:10-12
"By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible." - Hebrews 11:3
Gold is one of the most precious metals in the world! In ancient times, Vietnamese people, when they had money, would buy gold to protect themselves rather than keep money, because it was compact and held its value over time! Nowadays, with banks available, people usually keep their savings in banks. However, Vietnamese people still prefer to keep gold, in part because they don't trust banks very much!
In the Bible, gold is first mentioned in the land of Havilah, a place rich in gold. The passage in Genesis 2:10-12 describes the Garden of Eden, which had "a river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters. The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold. The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there." Thus, gold truly existed from the time of creation, and it is a blessing that God has given to humanity. The first wealthy person mentioned in the Bible who had gold was Abram, whom God later renamed Abraham, "Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold" (Genesis 13:2).
From the very beginning of creation, God bestowed gold, silver, and other riches upon people. God must be wealthy in order to give wealth and gold to His people. All natural resources in this world belong to the Lord. "By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible" (Hebrews 11:3). Therefore, we must always live with gratitude to God, for He has given us all things, including wealth and prosperity in this life and in the life to come in His Kingdom! We can express our gratitude through our giving to God's work in the local church, as well as wherever we know people are in need of God's work, such as building churches, disaster relief, and more. At the same time, we can share with those in need and help them also experience God's abundant blessings and His gracious provision. Let us live with hearts dedicated to God and generous in giving to others!
May God help us not to be greedy or hoard for ourselves; but may He enable us to live in a way that pleases Him, with open hearts to give generously and offer joyfully! Amen!
*The resources and gold and silver of this world,* *All belong to the Holy God's authority,* *Open our hearts to give first,* *So Christ's Name may be proclaimed everywhere,* *Love and help all people,* *To turn to faith in God for eternal glory!*
