Missions

Carrying the gospel to Albuquerque's Vietnamese community and to the ends of the earth — one faithful step at a time.

Matthew 28:19–20

Our Calling

A Church Sent Out

VBC Albuquerque was itself a mission — a small band of Vietnamese refugees who chose to plant their lives in Albuquerque, go to their neighbors, and share the gospel. That same outward impulse has never left us. We believe every member of this church is a missionary wherever God has placed them — at work, in their neighborhood, in their family, and potentially across the world.

Local Outreach

Serving Albuquerque

Since 1994, VBC has been embedded in Albuquerque's Vietnamese community — beginning in a neighborhood marked by poverty and hardship. That commitment to serve our neighbors with both practical care and the gospel continues today.

Local

Vietnamese Community Outreach

We continue to reach Vietnamese families across Albuquerque through personal relationships, home visits, and church events open to the whole community. Many of our members were first connected to the church through a neighbor's invitation.

Seasonal

Christmas Outreach

Each December, VBC partners with nearby churches to host a Christmas outreach event — sharing the gospel, providing gifts for families in need, and celebrating the birth of Christ with our broader community.

Community

Neighborhood Service

Members of VBC serve informally throughout Albuquerque — assisting elderly neighbors, supporting newly arrived immigrant families, and being present in the city as salt and light. Details coming soon as we formalize more structured service opportunities.

Global Missions

To the Ends of the Earth

As a Vietnamese congregation, we carry a particular burden for the Vietnamese diaspora and for the nation of Vietnam. We support missionaries and partner organizations working to spread the gospel in Southeast Asia and beyond.

VBC financially supports and prays for Vietnamese Christian missionaries serving in various countries. We believe the Vietnamese church has a unique calling to reach other Vietnamese-speaking communities around the world.

Global

Supporting Vietnamese Missionaries

We maintain relationships with sister Baptist churches serving Vietnamese communities in other cities and countries, sharing resources, encouragement, and prayer across borders.

Partnership

Partner Churches

Vietnam remains a country where Christians face significant restrictions. We pray regularly for the church in Vietnam — for boldness, protection, and growth — and look for opportunities to support our brothers and sisters there.

How You Can Participate

01

Pray

The most powerful thing any member can do for missions is pray. Join us each Sunday as we pray for missionaries, for Vietnam, for Albuquerque, and for open doors for the gospel.

02

Give

Your financial giving directly supports our local outreach events and the missionaries we partner with globally. Every gift — large or small — participates in the work of the Great Commission.

03

Go

Whether across the street or across the world, every believer is called to go. Talk to Pastor Tan Thai about short-term mission opportunities and how to be intentional about sharing the gospel in your own daily life.

Join the Mission

You don't have to go overseas to be a missionary. Start where you are — with your neighbors, your coworkers, your family. Come to a Sunday service and discover how VBC is living out the Great Commission in Albuquerque.
